Admissions Process and Deadlines
The Laurel School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs and athletic and other school-administered programs. The Laurel School is approved by the Rhode Island Department of Education.
School Tour
The first step in the admissions process is to visit the Laurel School either by attending an Open House or by scheduling a half-hour tour during school hours. At this time, you will have an opportunity to observe our classroom and learn more about the Laurel educational program.
Application
Complete and sign an application, a records release form and a student profile (if applicable). Mail these materials along with a $50 non-refundable processing fee to the Admissions Office. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with priority given to families who apply by February 15.
Teacher Recommendation Form
A teacher recommendation form will be mailed along with the signed records release form to the school the applicant currently attends. This recommendation will assist us in our admissions decision.
Visit Day
Schedule a day for your child to spend time in the classroom experiencing the Laurel School firsthand.
Admissions Decision
The Admissions Committee gives each application careful consideration. Families who apply by February 15 will an admission notification letter by March 15.
Tuition
Tuition for the 2007-08 academic year is $8,750.00.
A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is due upon acceptance of the admission offer. Tuition is payable in annual, semi-annual or quarterly installments.
Field Trip Fees
Fees for field trips are payable during the school year. These include admission to museums, farms, planetariums, the theater, and any miscellaneous expenses incurred at such events.
